The young German pianist Esther Birringer has already made a name for herself by receiving numerous awards and playing many concerts. Her repertoire comprises almost 30 piano concertos as well as several chamber music works.
The first prize at the “Bundeswettbewerb Jugend Musiziert” in 1999 was the start for a series of prizes in international competitions in Germany, Italy and France, including first prizes at the 6th international J. S. Bach competition in Wuerzburg and the 9th international piano competition of the "Chopin Society Hanover", moreover a special award at the German music competition 2011. She was awarded the culture prize for emerging artists of the town Saarbrücken for her excellent achievements.
Besides her soloistic activities Esther dedicates herself to chamber music. She forms a duo with her sister Lea (violin). The siblings have recently been a show-stopper when they both won the international chamber music competitions “Premio Vittorio Gui” and “Concorso Internazionale di Musica da Camera Città di Pinerolo” in succession and received a special award for the best interpretation of Brahms. Numerous concerts are scheduled for Italy such as performances at the festival “Palermo Classica”, in the “Teatro Vittorio” in Turin and in the “Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” in Florence, thereby they focus on the recital of seldom performed works like sonatas by Karol Szymanowski and Paul Hindemith as well as the 24 preludes by the young composer Lera Auerbach.
Esther performed, among others, at the summer festival “AlpenKLASSIK” in Bad Reichenhall, at the “Schwetzinger Schlosskonzerten”, at the “Bachfest Leipzig”, at the “Wuerzburger Bach-Tagen”, at the “Musikfesttagen an der Oder” in the “Laeiszhalle” in Hamburg and in the “Nicolaisaal” in Potsdam.
She performed with orchestras like the “Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin”, the “Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt-Oder”, the “Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchster Saarbruecken”, the “Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester”, the Senday Philarmonic Orchestra, the “Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie” and the “Neues Kammerorchester Potsdam” in collaboration with directors like Michael Sanderling, Lukas Borowicz and Marcus Bosch.
Several radio recordings, e.g. for the broadcasting stations of Berlin-Brandenburg, Saarland and Bavaria were made.
Born in 1983 in Quierschied/Germany she began to play the piano at the age of three. After taking her A-levels in 2003 she was a student of Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and continued her studies with Prof. Pascal Devoyon. At present she is accomplishing her education under Prof. Arie Vardi in Hanover.
