The Birringer sisters used to play together since they started playing their instruments at the age of three.
Lea Birringer was fourteen when she made her debut as soloist with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. While still in school she was admitted into the class for highly talented students at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. After her A-levels she started her studies with the renowned Prof. Igor Ozim and graduated with honor. At present she continues her studies with Prof. Pavel Vernikov at the Conservatory in Vienna.
Esther Birringer was a student of Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Prof. Pascal Devoyon after taking her A-levels in 2003. At present she is studying “Soloist class” under Prof. Arie Vardi in Hanover.
Besides their soloistic education, the sisters got chamber musical interpretation by Prof. Eduard Brunner, Prof. Paul Rivinius, Prof. Markus Becker and Marcin Sieniawski (from Szymanowski Quartett).
Both sisters won several important prizes, such as the first prizes at the international competitions “Johannes Brahms” and “Johann Sebastian Bach”. The sisters won many international awards also as a Duo, e.g. first prizes at the chamber music competition “Karel Kunc” (Germany), the international music competition “Premio Vittoria Caffa Righetti“ (Italy) and the “Concorso musicale europeo” (Italy). In 2004, the Sisters have been awarded with the “cultural prize for young artists” by the city of Saarbrücken, Germany. Recently, the Birringer Duo won the 1st prize both at the international chamber music competition "
Premio Vittorio Gui" in Florence and at the international chamber music competition "
Città di Pinerolo". They have appeared in numerous festivals as well as concert halls
